L. William's Story

For personal reasons I had been out of the workforce for an extended period of time. I had no network, no support system, no references. I wanted to get back to work but employers were unwilling to even consider me.

How was I supposed to make the transition back into society, and contribute to my community if no one was willing to give me a chance? I didn't want charity, just a chance to prove myself.

Then a friend told me about EMBERS. I met wth their recruitment counsellor who immediately sent me to work as a construction labourer. This was the chance I needed. I was able to earn money, prove myself to prospective employers and regain my self-confidence, all while learning new skills.

I am now working full time for one of the companies that EMBERS connected me with, and am very happy. If it weren't for EMBERS I don't know where I would be today, but I am doubtful that I would be working. EMBERS re-opened doors for me and I am sincerely grateful to them. EMBERS is a blessing to anyone who cannot find employment for a variety of exceptional reasons. EMBERS is a valuable member of our community and has my full endorsement.

EMBERS is not a profit driven or profit focused organization. Its drive and focus is to help individuals with special circumstances to become productive members of the community.
