EMBERS needs a facelift. Can you help? Get your creative juices flowing and submit your best idea for a chance to win $500 cash!

SITUATION:
Since 2004, EMBERS has helped over 600 people with their Build a Business and Cash Plan programs; 150 businesses are currently in operation today. We provide one-of-a-kind business training and support for those who are not eligible for government funded self-employment programs. Our clients, who primarily reside and work in East Vancouver, include immigrants, First Nations, single parents, recovering addicts, people with disabilities and ex-offenders. Many of our clients are in the process of rebuilding their lives.

In 2008, EMBERS started a temporary staffing social enterprise called EMBERS Staffing Solutions (ESS),which focuses on placing graduates of drug and alcohol recovery programs to transition back into the workforce and reintegrate into society. Since opening our doors, we have placed 189 workers; 50 of those positions have turned into full time jobs.

OBJECTIVE:
Although EMBERS and ESS operate from the same office in Chinatown, the two have operated as separate entities. As part of our re-branding strategy, we want a new look, a logo or wordmark that unifies both. When people see this logo, we want them to think of EMBERS and ESS.

LOGO GUIDELINES:
- The less colours, the less expensive printing costs will be. Please keep in mind that your design must also be easily identifiable in black and white.
- One entry per person
- Must submit a high-resolution file in either .eps or .jpeg format
- EMBERS has the artisitc right to make modifications to the final selection

WHO'S JUDGING?:
Our board of directors, who bring valuable insight and experience to EMBERS, will decide on the winning submission by Friday, March 26, 2010, at which time the winner will be notified.
