Our Programs

EMBERS offers an array of affordable business supports designed to give people skills, confidence, and practical supports to plan, start and operate successful microenterprises.

What makes EMBERS unique to Vancouver is that our programs are affordable and accessible to anyone, regardless of income, education or employment history.

We work with entrepreneurs over an extended period of time - up to 3 years - to help their microenterprises grow and develop.  A variety of individuals access our programs – from people on disability wishing to top-up their income, to people starting storefront businesses and employing numerous employees.

Since 2003, more than 600 people have accessed EMBERS training and business services. In 2009 alone, we worked with 60 individuals on developing and growing their microenterprises. We have seen ideas shaped into plans, plans blossom into operating businesses, and businesses grow to provide a source of income for individuals and families.
